Flora and Fauna

The most abundant flora in Mt. Egmont National Park are ferns and creepers, which flourish in the forests. Another beautiful plant found in the forest is the bamboo orchid, which is found among the branches of Kahami and Rimu trees.

Fauna that is found in these forests and iceland are the kaka's, kiwis and possum's. As the main predator of New Zealand the possum devours most of the types of birds found in New Zealand. Tui's are also found in the forests of Mt. Egmont National Park, you would always be able to hear their call in the morning.
